Psychology Diploma Online - Level 3 NCFE

This Psychology Diploma will investigate why people do the things they do. This is the online version of our Psychology Diploma, if you would prefer a workbook please click here.

It is the study of the mind and behaviour. Learners will examine how psychologists have developed their understanding of human behaviour, and also the mental processes that motivate our actions.

This courses comes with twelve months full tutor support with additional support available via our student helpdesk.

Our Psychology course can be studied at your own pace, online, whenever and wherever it suits you.

Students will learn the following:

  • How our understanding of the world develops as we grow up

  • How much we are influenced by other people

  • How our thoughts are related to brain activity

  • How memory works, and also why we forget, and how to improve your memory

  • How psychology can be applied in the real world

  • How psychologists explain personality and intelligence

The Psychology Diploma is divided into seven modules. All of which will introduce the key theories related to that area of psychology. Modules 2-6 have been split into a Part A and a Part B to assist learners in gaining understanding.

The main aspects of the psychology diploma include the following:

  • ‘Setting the scene’ boxes: These explain relevant case studies that clarify points that are made in the main body of the text.

  • ‘From the archives’ boxes: These suggest the main research studies that are published in academic journals. They enable the learner to explore the procedures and methods used by psychologists to develop their theories and concepts.

  • ‘Have a go’ boxes: These encourage active learning which enables the student to get more involved in the learning process.

Suggestions for recommended reading: The Psychology Diploma has been written by Dr Matthew Smith and Elizabeth Ottley. Matthew Smith is formerly a Professor of Psychology at Liverpool Hope University, and has around twenty years of experience in research and teaching in this field.
