Course Description

Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Certificate - Level 3 TQUK

Our Supporting Teaching and Learning QCF programme will provide learners with a work book.

This workbook has been created for individuals who work, or plan to work, in an educational setting including primary, middle, and high school.

There are several titles that you may find yourself being referred to in the school including: teaching assistant, classroom/ school assistant, learning support assistant or a special needs assistant.  Such job titles now reflect the existing positions in schools for learning support staff.

This course will enable students to develop and improve learning knowledge, skills and also expertise in a range of areas. Learners will need to consider how the relevant theory fits in with your personal experiences in the classroom.

This level 3 award requires learners to successfully complete a range of unit assessments, which will lead to you achieving the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework). For each unit you will gain/achieve a certain number of credits.

The credits are based on the period of time it would take students complete a unit (1 credit is approximately the equivalent to 10 hours of learning).

(Supporting teaching and Learning in School, Burnham and Baker)

The four units in this programme will contribute to the achievement of this qualification, so learners will not need to retake these units.

To begin, students should become familiar with the course and its learning materials, and also the requirements of the course, so you know what is expected. It is important to plan your time effectively to enable sufficient time to complete the course.
