Course Description

Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Certificate - TQUK Level 2 QCF

Our Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 QCF, will provide learners with a Workbook. This is the ideal programme for individuals who work or would like to work as a teaching assistant in a school.

This Workbook has been designed and created for learners who work in an educational setting, this includes primary, middle or high school. 

Within your school you may find that you are recognised as a general teaching assistant, school assistant, or a learning support assistant.

There have been a range of different job titles which have been created with regards to the different types of work which are required in the classroom.

When learners are working towards this qualification, you will be able to develop and improve your expertise in a range of topic areas. You will find when you are completing this programme, your theory and knowledge will fit in with your experience within the classroom. 

Please note: students will be required to undertake a work placement in order to successfully complete this programme.

  • Unit 6: maintain and Support Relationships with Children and Young People

  • Unit 7: Support Children’s and Young People’s Health and Safety

  • Unit 8: Supporting Children’s and Young People’s Positive Behaviour

  •  Unit 9: Support Learning Activities


No Previous Knowledge Required

There is no previous learning knowledge needed to enrol on to this programme. However, it is recommended that the learner has basic understanding of the English Language.


12 Months Tutor Support

You will be designated a personal tutor who will be available to answer any questions you may have, throughout the programme (via mail or email). Learners will also be able to access our student support team who are available to provide you with any practical advice you may require. 

Students will receive tutor support for up to a period of 12 months. 



To achieve the Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 QCF, students will be required to successfully complete a series of assessments. Each unit has allocated credits that can be achieved. Such credits have been based upon the average time a student would take to finish a unit. For example ten hours of studying is approximately the equivalent to one credit..
