Course Description

Accounting A Level (fast track available)

Are you interested in completing an A Level within 12 months to gain access to University?

eCertified Learning provide a wide range of A Levels where we guarantee to make the marking of assignments as quick and efficient as possible, so that students are able to sit their exams in June.

An Advanced A Level in Accounting is an ideal qualification for people who are keen to gain knowledge and a deeper understanding of the subject, which will then lead on to further education at university. It can also enable the learner to gain further training aside of employment.

Please Note:

Due to legislation changes in some A Level specifications, the last opportunity to you will have to sit the exam on this course is June 2016.

We will be updating our A Level courses, to meet with the new specification in due course. Once these courses are released the first opportunity you will have to complete these exams will be June 2017.

The main aim of the course is to provide the learner with the following benefits; all of which will supply the student with the skills and in depth knowledge needed in an accounting context:

  • To give the student understanding of the significance of efficient accounting information systems, as well as knowledge of their restrictions.
  • Students will gain the transferable skills of numeracy, application, communication, ICT, presentation, interpretation, evaluation and also analysis in an accounting environment.
  • Learners will gain sufficient information on the aims, principals, techniques and practices of accounting.
  • An awareness of the economic, legal, environmental, social and also technological influences on accounting and also the competence for critical thinking.


This course will consist of four areas of study:

AS Level

Unit 1: ACCN1 Introduction to Financial Accounting

Written examination: 1 hour 30 minutes

Unit 2: ACCN2 Financial and Management Accounting

Written examination: 1 hour 30 minutes


A2 Level

Unit 3: ACCN3 Further Aspects of Financial Accounting

Written examination: 2 hours

Unit 4: ACCN4 Further Aspects of Management Accounting

Written examination: 2 hours

Students are required to undertake work for both AS + A2 in order to complete a full A Level including assignments and examinations.


No Previous Knowledge Required

Students are required to have basic English reading and writing skills to complete our Accounting A Level Course. Learners will have access to full tutor support where a tutor will be assigned to be on hand throughout the process of the course completion.



Students have all the support required to successfully complete their course. Tutors have the expertise and skills needed to aid the student in the learning process. 

  • The course arrives to the student in a paper based pack.
  • Tutor support is given via email.
  • Feedback will be given from an assigned tutor with the expertise to guide the learner every step of the way.
  • Students will be given guidance through the Study Guide on all aspects of submitting assignments.

Tutors will be accessible via our student portal who will mark and aid the students learning and ensure the learner is confident and ready to take their examinations.

A Levels come with tutor support which is available for 18 months.



The course consists of several assignments which your tutor will mark and then provide constructive and valuable feedback. These tutors are known as Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs). TMAs are only required to be sent to your tutor and it is not necessary to send your tutor self - assessment activities and exercises, as these are only in place for you to monitor your own personal progress.

Examinations are to be sat at an AQA centre for which there are a range of centres listed in your course pack.

The Assessment and Qualification Alliance (AQA) has a known reputation for encouraging education for the benefit of the public and also has substantial experience of setting and marking public examinations for example A – Levels and GCSEs. There are three English exam boards of which AQA is the largest. They award 49% of full course GCSEs and 42% of A – Levels on a national level.
