Course Description

Wedding Planner Diploma (Online) - Level 3 NCFE

This is the online version of our Wedding Planner Diploma course. If you wish to study using our paper (print) version, please click here. This course has been authored by the gentleman who organised Robbie Williams’ 30th birthday party and Madonna and Guy Ritchies wedding.

This diploma will provide you with all the necessary learning materials to develop a greater knowledge needed to successfully complete this programme.  Learners will be able to use such materials as a guideline and a checklist in order to provide a clear direction in the planning process. This is a practical diploma, which can assist you in planning every aspects and small detail in planning your own or clients big day.

Upon successful completion of the programme you will become a qualified Wedding Planner. This programme is also ideal for individuals who are planning their own wedding. Students will learn about the background operations of a Wedding Planner and also the national trends for marriage ceremonies in the UK. The Office for National Statistics provides up to date and relevant information on wedding trends. People are now putting off getting married until they are older. Recent figures show the average age for the first marriage is 31 for women and 29 for men. Nowadays less people are getting married. This is evident through the decrease in the number of marriages in 2006 compared to 2005, which fell by 4%.

Northern Ireland has experienced a small increase. In 2006, the number of remarriages made up 39% of all marriages. The other 61% accounted for first time marriages for both partners. Civil ceremonies have become increasingly popular. Since 1992 there have been more civil ceremonies in England and Wales than religious ceremonies.  In 2006 civil ceremonies made up 66% of all marriage ceremonies.

The cost of an average wedding in 2008 was estimated at £20,273 by You and Your Wedding magazine. It is crucial for brides and their relations to make sure they are getting the very best value for their money. It is vital to make sure that every aspect of the couple’s big day runs to plan, as this is one of the most expensive occasions of the couples’ life.

The wedding industry is made up of a number of small enterprises such as caterers, venues, photographers, dress suppliers, and musicians. The industry has been valued at £4.2 billion by Brewin Dolphin, each of these businesses are smaller, and most likely to be privately owned.

This market is very broad and diverse. There are large amounts of money spent every year on creating wedding celebrations. Although it can put pressure on the wedding planner, the result of your work will outweight the pressures with the feeling of pride and achievement. The Wedding Planner Diploma course will provide students with the necessary skills, and knowledge needed to plan all aspects of a wedding.
