Course Description

Freelance Journalism - Level 3

Our Freelance Journalism programme has been designed and created for individuals who would like to greaten their knowledge and skills in this subject area.

Learners will explore journalistic writing and will concentrate on successfully marketing copy to a variety of printed media. 

The purpose of this programme is to offer learners the necessary understanding and learning knowledge needed to produce journalistic articles on a professional level. Students will learn how to best market their articles.

Learners will explore article content, style, marketing and also techniques. When purchasing the course, we strive to provide you with the best possible deal available. The cost of the course will cover the registration fee, certification fee, and also tutor support. 

Throughout the programme, learners will investigate the four key questions of journalism including the following:

1) What to write

2) How to write it

3) Which techniques to use

4) Where to submit your work

 

No Previous Knowledge Required

There are no formal entry requirements to begin on to this course. There is also no previous experience needed to access this course. However, it is important that you have access to a PC which has Microsoft Works, and Microsoft Word installed. Students can start their course for a period of up to 12 months from the initial registration.

12 Months Tutor Support

Students will be assigned a personal tutor who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have, throughout the duration of the programme (via mail or email). You will be provided with a course manual and a study guide. Learners will also have access to our student help team who will be on hand to provide you with any practical advice you may require. 

This programme is supplied and delivered by our partner organisation – Kendal Publishing. 

 

Assessment

To achieve the Freelance Journalism qualification, students will be required to complete a number of exercises. Your personal tutor will review, mark and also provide you with feedback on your work. Learners are not required to sit an external examination. 

 

Awarding Organisation

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be awarded a certificate of achievement by NCFE. This programme has been approved under NCFE IIQ Licence by Kendal Publishing Limited, which has been accredited as an NCFE Investing in Quality (IIQ) centre in which will provide formal recognition to our courses. We have designed and created our training programmes to meet the needs and demands of individuals who would prefer to study in the comfort of their own home. The learning outcomes have been measured using Ofqual’s Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) level descriptors which will enable the student to consider the depth of study and also the level of difficulty involved.
