Course Description

Challenging Behaviour (Elderly) - Level 2 ABC Award

This course will help staff to develop and improve the lives of individuals that demonstrate challenging behaviour. It will provide learning materials to support service users and to replace challenging behaviour with positive actions.

This programme identifies what care workers can and cannot do. It will also provide advice as to how they can remain safe, as well as keep service users safe too, whilst working within organisational, local and also national procedures.

You will find this a suitable course if you work within a social care working environment. Employees will be supporting and assisting adults that show a range of behaviours considered to be challenging. This can vary in different settings including residential care, respite care, educational provision, day services and also the voluntary sector.

This qualification is at Level 2 which is equivalent to a GCSE. It has been split into ten modules, all of which cover a different topic of challenging behaviour in the elderly.

Students will be required to successfully complete an activity work booklet to complete the course. Your assigned personal tutor will then review, mark and provide you with feedback on your work.

Each module of this course provides an introduction and learning outcomes, which will explain what you will investigate and understand on completion of each module.

The assessment questions are closely related to the learning outcomes. Students can check if they have met each learning outcome by successfully completing the assessment questions throughout the course.
