Course Description

Child and Adolescent Counselling - Level 3 OLQA

Our Level 3 Diploma course has been created to follow on from the basic introductory counselling course. Reappraisal of basic counselling skills and also fundamental knowledge will be covered, along with an in depth examination of the five approaches of counselling. Particular attention will be paid to psychodynamic, cognitive behavioural and person-centred approaches, which will provide learners with a greater working knowledge of advanced counselling skills.

In specialist counselling fields, such advanced skills are needed to have the ability to identify, recognise and also deal with the variety of client needs. Not only this, students will be able to understand the background of these emotions and other physiological aspects.

This programme concentrates on the integrated technique of child counselling in relation to using both narrative and imagery methods. For youths who are struggling with the transition to adulthood, special counselling skills and approaches are required, together with hands on and creative strategies. Students will explore a range of counselling approaches, and various working models as well as behavioural, reflective practice and also psychosocial strategies.

Learning materials can be studied online or students may request to have the materials printed. This will incur an additional charge of £65.
